Patience is essential when it comes to wildlife photography and video. It's a field that often requires long periods of waiting, and while sometimes these moments can be rewarded with incredible encounters and sightings, unfortunately this isn't always the case.

I spent about ten hours in the company of this hawk owl.

Usually, in winter, it's common to see her hunting at any time of day. But on this day, that wasn't the case.

She had only decided to change her perch from time to time to groom herself or let herself sway in the wind.
